Welcome to Sunday School at St. Agnes
St. Agnes Parish offers a Sunday school program for children, designed specifically for our community. Come experience our program! It is rooted in the weekly gospel reading and includes introductory prayers based on the Liturgy of the Word, a reflection on the gospel, songs, crafts, games and prayer experiences.
Regular Program Schedule:
Our Sunday School program is held on the first and third Sunday of each month during the 9:00 a.m. Holy Mass. If there are 5 Sundays, it is held on the 1st, 3rd & 4th Sunday. Children are requested to be dropped off in the Parish Centre for 8:50 a.m. please.
Age groups: our program is open to children age 3-9 years, with program rooms for 3 & 4 year olds, 5 & 6 year olds & 7 to 9 year olds.
Sunday School Program highlights:
8:50 a.m – we gather in front of our prayer centre to begin our celebration downstairs. Our celebration includes an opening song, the sign of the cross, a prayer, our “sorry” song, Gloria, Psalm, Alleluia & the Gospel of the day. We then reflect for a few moments on the message of the Gospel. Children move to the rooms with their teachers & helpers to take a more in-depth look at the Gospel message through games, songs, crafts, activities or stories.
Joining in on the Mass: After the petitions are read in the Mass, we come in procession with the gifts for the Eucharistic meal. We sit together at the front of the church to listen & participate in the Eucharistic Prayer. After the sign of peace, your child(ren) will come to sit with you.
Following Holy Mass, please come downstairs with your children to pick up any activity sheets, crafts or colouring pages from the day’s program. We will meet again in 2 weeks. Watch the bulletin (printed or on-line) for dates.
To register your child and/or to volunteer to be a Sunday School helper:

What’s happening on the alternate weeks to Sunday School?
On the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month & for special celebrations, our Children’s Choir leads the congregation in song. Children also participate as readers, petitioners & gift bearers. We invite children to consider joining this fun and valuable way of contributing to our church community through music ministry.
